The busiest month of the year is nearly here!  I am having a group art sale with my arty friends and you should come.  We have a massive combined lot of interesting stuff from prints, paintings, jewellery, tea towels, glass art and heaps more - also a very varied price range to suit everyone.  Pencil in this date and time to come to Grey Lynn :)

Welcome 2017!

Well it is so exciting to be back in the workshop and the kids are finally back at school.

I am working on getting more stock out to all my outlets, so keep an eye out for my work at your favourite shops.  It has been a ripper of a summer season with wonderful sales at my galleries. 

Our family has been to Whitianga & Wyuna Bay in Coromandel, up to Ahipara in the far north, over to Whangarei Heads and to finish off we had a camping and boating adventure to Motuihe Island.

I hope everyone else has had a holiday of some sort and a happy new year.  I have started a glass page on Facebook now - search for Jenny McLeod Glass and please like my page.  It is also linked to my website where you can also join my mailing list.

Wow it has been way too long since I updated this blog!

I have quite a few events all coming up on the downward spiral heading towards the end of the year.

1. POP UP SALE - ARTIST STUDIO CLEAROUT!!  My wonderful group of arty friends and I are taking all sorts of seconds, samples, old stock etc to the Mt Eden Church Hall, 449 Mt Eden Road THIS SUNDAY........there will be a mixture of glass, jewellery, paintings, prints and loads or arty stuff.  16th Oct. 9.30am - 4.30pm.
2. NZ SOCIETY OF ARTISTS IN GLASS MEMBERS EXHIBITION "Light & Form" Friday October 21st - November 13th 2016 @ TSB Bank Wallace Arts Centre (Pah Homestead).  (see my "Small Chair" entry).
3. NZ SCULPTURE ONSHORE - Supporting NZ Womens Refuge 10 - 20th November 2016 Fort Takapuna.  I am so lucky to be part of this again and will post a pic of sculpture once it is installed.  Make the effort to visit if you can, all funds for a very worthy cause and always so much to see!
4. Last on the list for the year is my STUDIO SALE.  This year the last Sunday of November falls on the 27th and I am already starting to sort, price and create more works.  I will have lots of gift boxed glass ready to go, old stock and seconds.  It is a good chance to call in and have a walk around our sculpture garden, have a glass of wine and my parents will be here too.  All welcome from 10am - 3pm Cash or chq only, remember no eftpos!

NZ Society of Artists in Glass Members Show

"Tusk Necklace" is part of the NZ Society of Artists in Glass Members show on now at the Pah Homestead, TSB Wallace Art Centre, 72 Hillsborough Road, Auckland.
20th Oct - 15th November 2015.
Great place for a visit with outdoor sculpture, various changing exhibitions, gallery shop (also stocking my work) yummy café and the beautiful building itself is worth seeing - go check it out!

New Gallery

These coloured glass Piupiu Wall Necklaces have made their way down to the South Island.  They will be on display at Kereru Gallery in Mapua, Tasman at a cool place on the wharf.  Call in and have a look if anyone is down that way.  (Piupiu translates to "skirt- like garment" and is a style I really like and have done many versions of).  These ones have a stainless steel wire detail.

Other news, cancel the words from my last post saying I will be part of the Waitakere Open Studio event as apparently I don't live in the right Local Board map area so am not eligible!  Quite annoyed about that!!

The year is whizzing by and dates and events are starting to clog up my diary.
We are yet to finalise the dates for the always very exciting group effort at my friend Justine Hawksworth's home but watch this space and I will put that up soon...........

I have just registered for the returning event, Waitakere Open Studios for the 14th & 15th of November 10am - 4pm.  This is run by the council who produce a map and interested people are able to visit all sorts of studios open for this weekend.

Also my annual xmas sale is always on the last Sunday of November - this year the 29th 10am - 3pm.  Functional glassware, garden art, sculpture, old stock and seconds, all welcome.

There we go a few dates for now and more to follow

Now in store at Moko, Hot Water Beach is a large, thick, green glass "Pipi Platter" - this is big and heavy and suitable for outdoors or in!  Also a selection of Water Bowls, 3 different sizes and heights.....call in and check them out if you are in the Coromandel.

I have been lucky to be part of this amazing group of women for the past few years and it is always a fun day at Justine Hawksworth's wonderful home.  Lots of different goodies with a diverse selection of work and price tags..............beautiful things made by Justine, myself, Holly Roach, Aimee Gruar, Crafty Lola, Sarah Brill & Su McPherson.

Then my usual Studio Xmas sale at my place on the last Sunday of November on the 30th 10am - 3pm.  I will have seconds, old stock, garden art & functional glassware.  There is also drinks and nibbles and a chance to walk around the sculpture garden.

Hibiscus Hospice Art Exhibition & Sale this weekend!

Anyone traveling north this weekend call into the Estuary Arts Centre in Orewa - they are holding a Art Sale and Exhibition to raise funds for the Hibiscus Hospice.  Lots of amazing things for sale including 4 x glass works of mine!  Entry via gold coin donation for a great cause.
